Welcome to Enviva Materials! We recover agricultural, forestry, and industrial byproducts, off-spec material, construction and demolition debris, and other energy-rich waste materials that otherwise would be sent to landfills, burned in open fields, or left on the ground to decay. We transform these materials into biomass fuels for renewable energy applications.
The fast-growing market for clean, renewable energy that minimizes net emissions of greenhouse gases is fueling growth opportunities for Enviva Materials. Emerging renewable energy technologies can use a number of our reclaimed materials as clean, cost-effective alternatives to fossil fuels. Customers who use our reclaimed biomass residues in fuel-switching applications significantly reduce their overall carbon footprint as well as achieve independence from the price volatility of fossil fuels.
Independence from Fossil Fuels
Rising fossil fuel prices and growing awareness about global climate change have spurred an increasing interest in alternative fuel sources. One of the best and most viable sources of fuel for alternative energy projects is the recovered biomass materials that Enviva Materials supplies. These renewable fuels contain high levels of intrinsic chemical energy—solar energy stored in the form of hydrocarbon bonds—which Enviva Materials transforms into finely-graded feedstock for green energy production.
Partnering with Industry for a Cleaner Future
We partner with both producers of biomass residues and consumers of biomass-derived fuels. Many municipal and industrial operations generate biomass wastes, such as yard trimmings, fiber sludges, wood residues, and sawdust. Enviva Materials procures these “wastes” and transforms them into useful biomass fuels called feedstock. We then supply these energy-rich feedstocks to operators of industrial biomass energy facilities, including our parent company, Intrinergy, LLC.
